For me - neither.
I was born in Wigan (famous for Rugby League) and work in St. Helens (also famous for Rugby League)... I used to watch rugby when it was cheap (now we're going back) but now I can't be bothered.
I also used to go along and watch Wigan Athletic Football Club before they got in the premiership - not really a 'fan' but my wife is... now though, I aon't paying those prices - between £20 - £30 a ticket? Jesus, that's the same as two MASSIVE 'Pizza Hut' pizzas - so let's prioritise here.
Anyhow - back to the subject...
I used to help out in a shop, and the feller who owned it was a MASSIVE rugby fan but HATED football.
I commented on a football match one day...
"Rubbish that game" he said, "Played by queers and watched by thugs!"
"Opposite to rugby then" said I controversially, "because that's watched by thugs..."
Blue touchpaper lit and I legged it as I heard him shout: "HEY, I'M NOT AN EFFING QUEER!"
Christ, the risks I take in the interests of comedy!
;D

Very true... someone I know went to watch Wigan play Everton at home recently - cost her £30!
Aye, and I would!
