How can I get email notification of updated threads that I am interested in please? Probably very simple - rather like me ...

Thought so ... Bugger! Hang on! I've just been tinkering and you CAN do it! When you're on a particular thread, click the 'bookmark' button, then in your profile there is also a Bookmark section... Click into that, then you'll see this message... Click here to manage your bookmarks preferences.Click that, then you can sort it from there! ;D

Forgot to say, you'll need to 'activate' your account in order to recieve e-mails from here.
That's easy to do. - If you haven't already, click 'activate account' in your profile, then you will be sent a link via e-mail with an activation code. Click the link and it should do it automatically.

OK ... did all the activation thingies a fortnight ago, and my profile is showing that my account IS activated ... and I've bookmarked the threads that I want to follow ... ... but I'm not receiving any emails to tell me a thread has been added to. Is there still something I need to do? Sir Stan... whilst it's thee, and you're kindly doing me that favour re: the Nostalgia cards (again, many thanks) - let me know which threads you want to know about, and when there's anything new, I can either: a. PM you on the L&H forum or b. email you. Unless Spielberg knows how to fix this prob. I don't mind doing that. Let me know. Regards! N.

I've bookmarked the threads that I want to follow ... ... but I'm not receiving any emails to tell me a thread has been added to. Is there still something I need to do? Not sure now to be honest. When I figured out how to do it, I tested it via my own forum and it worked for me. The only thing I can suggest is double check that the threads are definately 'bookmarked'. Has any of your bookmarked stuff been updated? It could be that there's been no replies in the ones you're watching.

To double check, click 'PROFILE' then 'BOOKMARKS',
On the right hand side of the screen you should see 'MANAGE BOOKMARKS'. Click that, then you should have some options...
To remove a bookmark, check the box next to it. If you wish to be notified when a new post is made in a thread you have bookmarked, select which type of notification you would like.
Subject Notification Notification of updated threads (SELECT E-MAIL)
By default, when you bookmark a thread, what type of notification would you like to receive when a new post is made in that thread? (AGAIN, SELECT E-MAIL)
Then Click 'UPDATE BOOKMARK PREFERENCES'
Then you should be sorted!
;D

A-Ha!! Might just have got there now, methinks. All to do with that 'managing bookmarks' malarky, and turning on email as a default for notification. Now let's see what happens when someone adds to this thread ... Roger
